Random Sketches

This is just a bunch of random sketches from over the break.

Maya Walk

This was harder than I thought. I did manage to "break" the elbows. It turned out pretty well.

Rough Walk cycle using Maya

Here's my rough draft for the 3D Maya walk. I thin I'm starting to understand the program again... only the animation part anyways.

Walking over and over again

I tweaked this a little bit. It still looks like the hands are flipping. I thought I fixed it. The eyes seem to be better though.

Rrraaawwrr!

I fixed part of the head movement this time. I didn't plan on making the spikes on the side of its head to do a follow-through. It's pretty interesting. I think I need to edit the tail but I don't have enough time to fix it. I'll try and fix it for the demo reel.

Rawr

Here's my flying creature. A wyvern dragon. I tried to use a bat formula to make it fly but I couldn't find a good reference images. I might try again later to get a bat flying motion done for this guy.

Another walk

I worked on the hands and tried to fix the arm movements. The eye seems a bit off.

Wha?

This is my anticipation animation. It still needs some work. It's choppy but I wanted to have something up today. I might post another one later tonight. My timing chart is shown above, but I think I changed it a little bit when I was animating.

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3

There is only 7 drawings in this video. I used ToonBoom to extend the exposure to get an idea of how many inbetweens I need. It looks ok so far. I might need to fix the break frame between pictures 5 and 7.
